About Us
Where it all began...
I started my creative journey at the age of 14. Learning different beading stitches on Venice Beach CA, I started selling my handmade beaded jewelry soon after. My self expression through clothing, at that time, had my father wondering what costume I was going to school with that day, and my mother referring to me as "artsy fartsy". As the years progressed, I became involved in learning many artistic mediums, from wire work and macrame jewelry, to crocheted accessories and sewing projects. When my children were born, I took every opportunity to engage them in creative arts and crafts. As they got older, and chose their own paths, one of my children chose to get involved in theatre. This was a great opportunity to turn my creative focus to costuming for local youth theatre. Every show, I would challenge myself to try something new and push myself outside my comfort zone. It brought me great joy helping the young actors shine on stage through my creative venture. This opportunity often brought me back to my art from my younger days. I incorporated macrame, beadwork, sewing, and crocheting into my costume creations, leading me to the creation of my small business, The Creative Stitch of VT.
Where we are today...
From patchwork up-cycled tote bags and crocheted snuggle buddies and other creations, The Creative Stitch of VT has a little something to make you smile. I create my pieces with much attention to detail, and joy in every stitch.
Where we are going...
The creating will continue. I am looking forward to adding beaded, sewn, and crocheted accessories to my collection soon. You can find me at upcoming local Vermont craft fairs. To see what more will come, keep following me here and on socials for new adventures in joyful creating.
